POSITION OVERVIEW
The Test & Evaluation Engineer will serve as the project’s subject matter expert, guiding technical integrity, performance outcomes, and system assurance across the capability life‑cycle. The role involves leading T&E planning, execution, governance, and providing expert engineering insights to support Defence capability decisions. This position requires strong analytical judgement, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to operate confidently within complex Defence environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead T&E planning, execution, and governance across the system life-cycle.
- Exercise Delegated Technical Authority to ensure technical integrity.
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation aligned with Defence legislation, policy, and standards.
- Provide expert T&E advice to inform capability decisions, risk posture, and system performance.
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver verification and validation activities.
- Analyse complex technical data and present clear, evidence‑based insights.
- Collaborate with Defence and industry stakeholders to ensure requirement clarity and aligned technical outcomes.
- Mentor team members and contribute to organisational T&E maturity uplift.
- Work with T&E Accountable Units to shape evaluation procedures and risk frameworks.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or related discipline.
- Positive Vetting (PV) Security Clearance.
- 8–11 years' experience in relevant engineering domains.
- Demonstrated experience within Defence, aerospace, aviation, or other complex systems engineering environments.
- Proficiency in CASG QMS, manuals, instructions, and risk management processes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
- Experience with verification, validation, certification, and compliance frameworks.
- Proven ability to work within CASG 2.0, ERP, and DSR‑aligned environments.
- Ability to influence stakeholders without relying on formal authority.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and system evaluation capabilities.
- Commitment to producing accurate, audit‑ready documentation.
DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Engineering Project Management experience.
- Engineering Support and Project Support experience.
- System Safety or System Safety Engineering experience.
- Experience working within joint Commonwealth–MSP team structures.
