POSITION OVERVIEW

The Identity Support Engineer plays a key role in supporting the onboarding and integration of applications into enterprise identity platforms. This role focuses on working closely with application teams to ensure smooth onboarding, resolve integration issues, and provide ongoing support. It operates within a secure, enterprise environment with a strong focus on consistency, reliability, and operational maturity.


ABOUT THE CLIENT

The client operates within a systems integration and technology services environment, delivering secure, enterprise-scale solutions. They support complex infrastructure across government and highly regulated sectors, with a strong emphasis on standardisation, automation, and security.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support application onboarding into enterprise identity platforms, including:
    • Connector configuration and validation
    • Attribute and entitlement mapping
    • Verification of identity and access flows
  • Work with application teams to clarify integration requirements and resolve configuration or onboarding issues
  • Support onboarding across identity capabilities, including identity governance, authentication and authorisation, and privileged access
  • Troubleshoot provisioning, authentication, and authorisation issues during onboarding and post-deployment
  • Follow established onboarding patterns and checklists to ensure consistent delivery outcomes
  • Maintain onboarding documentation, configuration records, and support runbooks
  • Assist with defect resolution and minor configuration updates under guidance
  • Contribute to handover and hypercare activities following onboarding releases

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 5–8 years’ experience in identity, access management, or security platform support roles
  • Proven experience supporting application integrations with IAM or security platforms
  • Strong understanding of identity concepts, including users, groups, roles, entitlements, and access flows
  • Ability to work closely with application teams and translate requirements into technical configurations
  • Strong troubleshooting capability and attention to detail
  • Well-developed documentation skills
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated technical capability within IAM environments
  • Ability to work effectively with some supervision
  • Current Australian Government Baseline security clearance

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • NV1 security clearance (or higher)
  • Demonstrated willingness to obtain NV2 clearance
  • Experience working within government or highly regulated environments
  • Exposure to LDAP, REST APIs, or system integrations
  • Familiarity with application onboarding frameworks or patterns
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Interest in developing deeper expertise in identity platforms and security engineering
