POSITION OVERVIEW

This role is responsible for leading the integrated logistics support function for the LAND 8710 program, ensuring the capability is sustainable, supportable, and cost-effective across its lifecycle. The ILS Manager will oversee the development and delivery of key sustainment elements while working closely with engineering and Defence stakeholders. The position is critical to ensuring successful transition into service and long-term operational readiness in a joint Army and Navy environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and deliver Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) activities across the full capability lifecycle
  • Oversee Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), technical data, configuration management, and sustainment planning
  • Ensure logistics and sustainment considerations are integrated into design, acquisition, and in-service support
  • Engage with Army, Navy, CASG, and industry stakeholders to align support solutions with operational needs
  • Ensure compliance with Defence frameworks, including ASDEFCON, Defence Logistics Manual (DLM), and DSEM
  • Identify and manage sustainment risks, including supply chain constraints, obsolescence, and capability gaps
  • Support engineering teams to ensure design for reliability, maintainability, and supportability
  • Provide input into program scheduling, costing, and reporting for sustainment activities
  • Review engineering change proposals and contract deliverables to ensure supportability outcomes
  • Support transition into service and ongoing sustainment performance

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Defence acquisition and sustainment programs (land and/or maritime)
  • Proven experience developing and managing ILS Plans (ILSP) and Logistics Support Analysis (LSA)
  • Strong experience in developing maintenance and support concepts across the lifecycle
  • Extensive experience delivering logistics support within maritime or naval environments
  • Understanding of Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (RAM) principles
  • Working knowledge of Defence frameworks such as ASDEFCON, DLM, and DSEM
  • Experience identifying and managing sustainment risks, including supply chain and obsolescence issues
  • Strong stakeholder engagement experience across Defence, industry, and sustainment organisations
  • Strong communication skills, including technical reporting and briefing delivery
  • Current NV1 security clearance

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Experience in maritime sustainment or shipboard logistics environments
  • Familiarity with amphibious or deployable logistics support concepts
  • Understanding of Defence supply chains and inventory systems
  • Experience driving continuous improvement and lifecycle optimisation initiatives
  • Ability to operate in complex, multi-stakeholder Defence environments
