POSITION OVERVIEW

This role supports the LAND 8710 program by ensuring supply support systems are in place to maintain operational readiness of amphibious capabilities. The Supply Support Officer will focus on spares analysis, provisioning, and supply chain planning, ensuring platforms are deployable and sustainable in challenging environments. The position contributes to both design and sustainment activities across the capability lifecycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct supply support analysis to determine provisioning requirements, including initial spares and inventory levels
  • Analyse reliability, maintenance, and usage data to forecast spare parts demand
  • Develop and maintain supply support documentation, including support plans and provisioning lists
  • Perform codification activities, including identification and registration of items within Defence systems (e.g. NSNs)
  • Maintain accurate logistics and catalogue data in line with Defence standards
  • Collaborate with RAM engineers and maintenance planners to align spares with failure rates and maintenance requirements
  • Support design and optimisation of supply chain solutions for deployed and remote environments
  • Engage with OEMs, engineers, and Defence stakeholders to resolve supply-related issues
  • Identify and manage supply risks, including obsolescence, long lead-time items, and supply disruptions
  • Recommend improvements to enhance availability and operational readiness

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related discipline
  • Experience in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) or Supply Support Analysis
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain design and logistics support within Defence environments (Maritime or Land preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience in spares analysis, provisioning, and inventory optimisation
  • Experience with codification processes, including NSN management and catalogue data
  • Proficiency in logistics and data systems (e.g. MILIS, SAP, ERP or similar)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Strong written communication skills, including report writing and stakeholder engagement
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Adaptability to support evolving program requirements
  • Current NV1 security clearance

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Experience supporting amphibious or littoral capability programs
  • Familiarity with Defence logistics systems and governance frameworks
  • Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Understanding of sustainment optimisation and lifecycle support modelling
