National Australia Bank (NAB) operates a comprehensive Know Your Customer (KYC) programme as part of its obligations under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) Act. This programme ensures the bank verifies customer identity to help prevent financial crime, fraud and terrorism financing.

This role sits within NAB’s Customer Data Refresh (CDR) programme, a large-scale regulatory KYC initiative supporting delivery of technology and process enablers required to meet regulatory remediation deadlines. The environment is enterprise-scale, complex and fast-moving, with multiple interdependent teams, evolving processes and a high degree of ambiguity.

The Business Analyst will join a national team of approximately 17 Business Analysts located across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Stakeholder engagement across both business and technology teams is critical to success in the role.

The role is based at 700 Bourke Street, Melbourne, with an expected hybrid working arrangement of 2 days per week in the office (subject to change to 3 days).

NAB is seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst with approximately 7–10+ years’ experience in comparable roles, ideally within regulated environments such as banking, financial services or KYC/AML programmes. Experience delivering within enterprise-scale programmes is essential.

Candidates with experience gained in domestic organisations or government environments are preferred. Experience working across multiple organisations is viewed positively, as it demonstrates breadth of exposure and delivery context.

The client is looking for a business-led Business Analyst who can lead requirements discovery, clearly understand and represent business needs beyond a purely technical lens, and develop well-reasoned recommendations to address complex challenges. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication capability is essential, along with the ability to partner effectively with business unit stakeholders and delivery partners.

The successful candidate will be self-driven, comfortable operating in demanding delivery environments, and capable of maintaining momentum and quality outcomes while working at pace. Agile delivery experience and financial services domain knowledge are highly valued.

This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity within a high-performing and supportive team that has invested significantly in its Business Analyst practice and ways of working. The role will suit someone pragmatic, adaptable and comfortable operating beyond a traditional BA remit, who thrives in complex environments and is motivated by delivering meaningful outcomes in a collaborative setting.

The current programme of work is expected to run through to October 2027.

  • Onboarding Requirements: ID, Working Rights & 2 Completed Reference Checks required at Offer Stage.
  • Permission to Represent (PTR): Please upload a signed PTR, including the role title to the Cover page section after clicking "apply"
