POSITION OVERVIEW
This role is suited to an early to mid-career Keycloak Analyst / Developer supporting the delivery of authentication and identity services across a distributed enterprise environment. The position focuses on configuring and supporting Keycloak-based identity solutions, with an emphasis on secure authentication, federation, and DevSecOps practices under guidance.
ABOUT THE CLIENT
The client operates within a systems integration services environment, delivering secure, enterprise-scale technology solutions. They support complex infrastructure across government or highly regulated sectors, with a strong focus on standardisation, automation, and security.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Configure standard Keycloak capabilities, including Single Sign-On (SSO) and identity brokering using OIDC and SAML
- Support directory and identity integration patterns, including LDAP federation and token/claims mapping
- Implement defined authentication flows, including MFA and secure policy configurations, under guidance
- Assist with configuration-as-code practices, including version control, environment promotion, and consistency
- Contribute to DevSecOps processes within a structured delivery environment
- Support defect investigation, configuration updates, and issue resolution
- Develop and maintain documentation for Keycloak configurations and operational procedures
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- 1–3 years’ experience in IAM, security engineering, or related platform roles
- 1–2+ years’ experience with Keycloak (or equivalent Identity Provider)
- Strong understanding of authentication protocols such as OIDC, OAuth2, and/or SAML
- Familiarity with directory services and LDAP integration concepts
- Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to delivery
- Relevant certification or degree
- Ability to work effectively in a supervised environment while developing technical capability
- Current Australian Government Baseline security clearance
DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Experience with token and claims mapping in identity platforms
- Basic scripting capability
- Exposure to Git and CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of containerisation and Kubernetes basics
- Interest and willingness to obtain NV1 and NV2 security clearances
